Thanks to its main active ingredient, alginate, present at a concentration of 500 mg, the gastric gel forms an effective protective barrier. Extracted from brown algae, alginate reacts with stomach acid along with sodium bicarbonate and calcium carbonate, swelling to form a protective gel-like layer. This layer blocks the backflow of stomach acid into the esophagus, thus relieving the symptoms of heartburn and acid reflux.
