Manufactured in Roggwil, Switzerland by Bioforce AG, Molkosan is a natural food supplement made from whey, a byproduct of cheese production. Whey is virtually fat-free, low in protein, and low in carbohydrates. It provides essential lactic acid as well as numerous vitamins and minerals.
Molkosan manufacturing process
The production of Molkosan begins with the removal of milk protein from the whey, followed by fermentation using lactobacilli. During this process, the lactose is broken down, producing L+ lactic acid. The product is pasteurized to extend its shelf life. It contains vitamins B1, B2, and B6, as well as the minerals potassium, calcium, and phosphorus. It is virtually free of carbohydrates and protein and is both lactose- and gluten-free.
Supporting a healthy diet
Molkosan can be used as a beverage by diluting it 1:10 with water, tea, or fruit juice. Alternatively, it is well-suited for enriching salad dressings or muesli. The high content of L-lactic acid contributes to the acid-base balance in the body and promotes a healthy intestinal environment, which can have a positive effect on digestion and immune function in the digestive tract.
