DracoAlgin
alginate dressing

DracoAlgin is an alginate dressing. It is used to cleanse and reduce the depth of chronic and acute problem wounds. The sterile dressing consists of calcium alginate fibers. Upon contact with wound exudate, DracoAlgin is highly absorbent and effectively traps bacteria and cellular debris. In this way, the alginate dressing supports the wound cleansing process and granulation. Wound fluid is distributed evenly throughout the alginate via fine capillaries, and the fibers bind together. The ideal moist wound environment is maintained by wicking away excess exudate into the secondary dressing. Thus, DracoAlgin promotes optimal wound healing conditions. The alginate dressing can be removed in one piece, facilitating dressing changes. DracoAlgin is suitable for highly to moderately exuding, superficial, and chronic wounds such as leg ulcers and pressure sores. It can also be used for wound cleansing at split-thickness skin graft donor sites and for minor bleeding, acute wounds such as abrasions. The dressing should be changed when DracoAlgin has completely absorbed the wound fluid. In the case of infected wounds, the dressing should be changed daily by a physician. To prevent maceration of the surrounding skin, DracoAlgin must not be applied beyond the wound edges.

Pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, secondary wound healing disorders, abrasions, iatrogenic wounds, lacerations, scratches, bite wounds, lacerations, split-thickness skin grafts, second-degree burns.
