Description
The ovulation test makes it possible to reliably determine fertile days, which increases the probability of pregnancy.
How does GS Ovultest work?
Luteinizing hormone (LH) is produced in the hypothalamus of the brain, and in women of childbearing age is used to induce ovulation - the release of a mature egg from the ovary. This happens about two weeks before your regular menstrual bleeding. This is the time when the probability of getting pregnant after an unprotected sexual act is the highest - the so-called fertile days.
High levels of luteinizing hormone accurately signal your fertile days. After immersing the ovulation test in a urine sample containing LH, a colored band will appear (review below). If the test is performed correctly, another colored band will appear in the control area (it serves to verify that the test was performed correctly).
Performing the test
- Perform the test at normal room temperature
- Strain the urine into a clean, dry container
- Remove the tape from the pocket
- Dip the strip into the urine sample with the absorbent side; do not immerse the strip in the urine above the marked maximum line (MAX), otherwise the test will not run correctly; after 10 seconds, remove the strip and place it on a horizontal, clean, dry, non-absorbent surface (eg the top of a urine container)
- Read the result in 10 minutes
- Handle the urine sample and the used test hygienically, throw it away after use; do not use it repeatedly
Test evaluation
Positive result: A colored test (pink or purple) and a control strip will appear. The test strip is either as intensely colored as the control strip or darker. This result indicates an increase in LH levels and heralds ovulation, the most suitable moment for conception. You have the best chance of getting pregnant in the next 24-48 hours.
Negative result : the control strip is pink or purple. The test strip either does not appear at all or is brighter than the control strip. An increase in the level of the LH hormone has not yet occurred. Test with a new strip the next day at the same time.
Public Result: No pink or purple streak appeared in the control area. The test did not go well and must be repeated with a new strip.
Composition
Monoclonal antibodies against LH.
Purpose of use
In vitro diagnostic aid for self-examination, qualitative determination of LH in urine.
Main information
The test is intended for single use only. Do not use it repeatedly! Do not use this test if you are taking medications that may distort its results. These are mainly hormonal drugs containing LH or hCG. Also, the test will not work properly during pregnancy, after menopause, or when using hormonal contraception. Do not use it after the recommended expiry date marked on the packaging. Do not use if protective bag is damaged or opened. Use the test immediately after opening the bag. Long-term exposure of the tape to air humidity will affect its functionality. Store in the original packaging at a temperature of 4-30ºC, do not freeze.
