The Supplemental Nutrition System (SNS) was designed to provide nutritional supplements to infants while they are being breastfed.

How to use:
Remember that a breastfeeding specialist or healthcare professional can give you advice if you're not sure how to use SNS.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before use.

Assembling the SNS
Fill the container with the required amount of breast milk or infant formula.
Attach the clip (1-G) to the ring (1-F). Place the assembled ring with the clip around the base of the container (1-E).
Place the valve (1-D) on the end of the Twistlok cap (1-C). Screw the assembled Twistlok cap onto the container.
Pass the Twistlok tube (1-B) through the clamp (1-A) and press the tube into the clamp so that the milk cannot flow (see picture 2).
Screw the assembled tube with the clamp onto the Twistlok cap.

SNS positioning and feeding
After the SNS is fully assembled and the clip is engaged so that milk cannot flow, turn the SNS upside down and fasten it snugly to your bra strap or blouse.
To position the tube, first place the baby on the breast (see picture 3). After you have correctly attached the baby to the breast (the vacuum has been created), gently insert a portion of about 1.5 - 2 cm of the tube into the upper corner of the baby's mouth to ensure a stable position
Release the clamp to let the milk flow.
To adjust the milk flow
Position the system higher to increase the flow or lower to slow the flow.

Information
• If the mother or baby has difficulty using the feeding device, remove the baby from the breast and try again. At first, you may need to try several times. Please note that the baby should never be forced or pressured when feeding SNS. If the baby becomes fussy, try again at the next feed. For some babies, it may take a few tries before this becomes an easy way to feed.
• If necessary, adhesive tapes can be used to help position the tube. After the SNS has been assembled and clipped to the bra strap or blouse, tape the end of the tube to the breast so that it extends approximately 0.5 cm above the nipple at the "10 o'clock" or "2 o'clock" position. Attach the baby to the breast as you normally would

• This product should always be used under adult supervision.
• Always check the temperature of food before feeding.
• Inspect before each use. Discard the product at the first sign of deterioration
or wear and tear.
• Keep unused components out of reach of children to avoid risk
suffocation or strangulation.
• Never attach to cords, ribbons, laces or loose items of clothing.
The child can strangle.
• Use only original Medela accessories.
• Do not modify any component of the SNS.
• This product is intended for a single user. Use by more than one user
without proper cleaning it can pose a health risk and should be avoided.
• Clean before first use.
• Never use a device, components or parts if they are dirty,
moldy or have other visible contaminants.
• Disassemble and wash immediately after use all components that come into contact with the breast and breast milk, to avoid drying of milk residues and to prevent the proliferation of bacteria.
• Store clean parts in a clean place. It is important to dry all the moisture
residual. Do not store parts in an airtight container/bag.
• Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before use.
• Do not heat breast milk or infant formula in the microwave as this may cause uneven heating and scald the infant.

Note
• Plastic parts become brittle when frozen and can be damaged if mishandled, eg dropped, knocked over or squeezed excessively.
Handle components with care.
• Do not use breast milk or infant formula if the components are damaged.
Storage: Store clean skins in a clean place.
