Auridol ear drops 7 g
Description
Glycerol is used in ear drops because of two basic properties:
- 1. The oily consistency of glycerol, due to which it can easily adhere to the skin at the place of application and which is responsible for its protective properties.
- 2. The hygroscopicity of glycerol, which ensures the ability to remove water from swollen tissues (due to the osmotic effect), which leads to the reduction of swelling and thus the relief of pain.
Lidocaine is added as a surface numbing agent, which contributes to the effect of glycerol and helps relieve ear pain.
The glycerol in the medical device softens the earwax and helps to remove it. Due to its ability to bind water, it removes excess fluid from the tissues of the ear canal (osmotic effect), which leads to a reduction of the unpleasant sensation that accompanies inflammatory conditions in the ear area, such as, for example. ear pain and swelling. Glycerol has a causal effect. Lidocaine is a substance used for local surface anesthesia, which contributes to the effect of glycerol and relieves ear pain.
