Learn about the properties of saffron
Cultivated saffron, also called crocus or saffron, is a perennial plant in the Iridaceae family. In natural conditions it occurs, among others: in the south-east of Europe and in Asia Minor.
Saffron is valued primarily as a spice plant. Dry stigmas, that is, the part of the pistil of angiosperm plants that receive pollen grains during pollination, in the form of a yellow powder, are considered the most expensive spice in the world.
Saffron is also used as an active ingredient in dietary supplements for adults, including adult women who may experience premenstrual syndrome (PMS) during their menstrual cycle. Crocus supports mental health. At the same time, it naturally contributes to maintaining proper menstruation and can help maintain proper fertility.
