Laxit

Laxit Med can be found on the market in the following forms:

• Laxit Med, 10 sachets, Fiterman;
• Laxit Med, 20 sachets, Fiterman;
• Laxit, 21 capsules, Fiterman.

Thanks to its natural action, Laxit Med does not irritate the digestive mucosa like anthraquinone laxatives and is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of occasional and chronic constipation. It can be administered to both adults and children over 6 months of age. This product can be administered with any liquid, even hot, without altering its taste. Laxit Med does not cause tolerance.

Each sachet of Laxit Med contains 5g of macrogol 4000. The product does not contain flavourings or other excipients.

For children between 6 months and 1 year of age, one sachet per day is recommended. In this age group, a medical consultation is recommended to check for organic disorders. For children between 1 and 4 years of age, one sachet is administered twice a day. Children between 5 and 8 years of age will be given a dose of 2-3 sachets per day. Children over 8 years of age should be given a dose of 2 sachets 1-2 times a day.

Adults should be given 2 sachets 1-3 times a day. For a rapid effect, a single dose of 4 sachets, equivalent to 20g of macrogol 4000, may be administered. If the treatment is long-term, you can reduce the dose to 2 sachets 1-2 times a day at alternating intervals, for example 2 sachets in the evening and two sachets the next day between breakfast and lunch.

The sachets should be dissolved in 50-100 ml of water and taken orally between meals or in the evening before bedtime in the case of a single dose. Laxit Med should be used until bowel movements return to normal, but treatment should not continue for more than 28 consecutive days. If necessary, take a 2-day break and then resume treatment.

Do not start treatment with Laxit Med if you are hypersensitive to macrogol, if you have severe inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, if you suffer from toxic megacolon, intestinal obstruction, perforation or risk of perforation, or abdominal pain syndrome of unknown cause. Caution is advised in people with liver or kidney failure and those prone to electrolyte imbalances.

Laxit Med capsules are indicated for constipation caused by bed rest, digestive disorders such as sluggish bile or medications such as narcotics, for emptying the bowel in preparation for investigations such as colonoscopy, and to avoid straining during bowel movements in cases of haemorrhoids, hernias or surgery.

For children over 10 years of age, 1 capsule per day is administered, and for adults, 2 capsules per day are administered. It is recommended that the duration of administration does not exceed 10 consecutive days.

This medicine contains lactose monohydrate, standardised extract from Senna leaves, dandelion root extract, magnesium stearate, talc, and the capsule shell contains gelatin and titanium dioxide.

Do not take this medicine if you are hypersensitive to any of its ingredients, if you suffer from inflammatory bowel disease or if you have gallstones or biliary obstruction. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not take Laxit Med without consulting your doctor.

It is recommended that people suffering from liver or kidney failure only take Laxit Med with the advice of their doctor.
